Workshop - Cinematography
Workshops are my favorite thing about university, and the opportunity to learn about equipment is important information to me. I attended several workshops this unit. This workshop was about lighting set ups as well as composition. we learnt about the four quadrants in film framing and how to visually tell a story. during this session I got to work with colours and gels for the first time. I found it quite informative as I had never used gels before and was still unconfident in my lighting set up, however this workshop very much helped toward future projects

Lighting Test
Lighting test - Self Directed
For the Non-Linear projects, both the films I was working on consisted of low lighting scenes. Having no real experience in lighting before apart from test shoots, I conducted self directed research into low lighting set ups.
Most of my experience was in composition and framing, and with the new upcoming projects becoming more challenging, I realized I was less experienced in camera operating and terminology than other aspects of film-making. So in my home i blocked out all lights and set up my own lighting and took some pictures of objects and lights, practicing my knowledge of settings and focus pulling.
My shots
Here are some of the cheat sheets I acquired when learning settings and camera tech. I found them simple and very helpful to learn from.

Workshop - Grips and Tracking
Although we had previous workshops on grips and tracking, this was an excellent refresher workshop as we had impending film shoots. Although I didnt learn anything new it was a good confidence boost and film preparation.
